In 1984 Bien Sanchez founded Cypress. He has over 30 years experience in the construction and restoration business and has been a pioneer in the restoration field with the  introduction of stone strengtheners, mineral coating, clear water-repellents, natural cement and concrete restoration products into the US. Mr. Sanchez has participated in numerous seminars; he has trained, demonstrated and implemented the application of these restorations techniques in the field. He has also participated in the test for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty, in the restoration of the West Wall of the U.S. Capitol, and was the main supervisor on the famous 100-year anniversary restoration of the Brooklyn Bridge.

As a general contractor, Cypress has completed various full-gut renovations of brownstone townhouses and has performed extension alterations to various properties.  We have completed successfully many local 10 & 11 restorations, brownstone and limestone façade restorations, along with landmark and historic buildings.
In addition, we perform various types of water-proofing. The most recent is cold-ply liquid systems, such as kemper and suprema, which we are certified installers of.
Lastly, Cypress just added a green division offering services in green roofs and other stainable building services.
